As we know, social media is a big part of our lives. Whether it be on our iPhone’s, iPod Touch’s, Blackberry’s, Android powered phones or on our desktop or laptop computers, most of us have a social media presence in one way or another.
For us here at SOX & Dawgs, we’re on Twitter where have 914 followers right now. So if you’re on Twitter, be sure to follow @soxanddawgs.
We’ve also recently created a Facebook page. If you’re like me, you ‘ve spent some time there as well. In the past, I’ve posted the updates from the site on my personal Facebook page. But after some complaints from the amount of posts for those who don’t follow what we cover here (we’ll discuss that more down below), I decided it would be best to create a Facebook page for the site. So if you’re on Facebook, be sure to follow SOX & Dawgs there as well.
Right now, we’re only at 49 but that’s only after about three weeks or so.
So if you’re here reading you know that we cover the Boston Red Sox and UConn Huskies as well as the New England Patriots for game previews and game recaps as well as some news on occasion.
And you may have also noticed that we have some Connecticut Whale coverage as well. We’re not doing the actual writing here except for a feature called Ice Chips. Basically what we are doing for them is posting their press releases as well as features and game recaps.
For those who don’t know, my focus here on the site is the Red Sox and UConn as well as general sports news, mainly the college football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball polls. I also try to do my best to cover what’s going on with UConn in the professional ranks. While I won’t do a recap of how they do, I do have pages (right sidebar) where you can get to the player links for their respective teams. On occasion, I’ll get into other things such as MMA video.
Steve covers the New England Patriots and he’ll also get into other general sports stuff as well when he has time. You can follow him on Twitter @djstevem.
And while she hasn’t written here lately, I have spoken with Amanda from Batter-up With Bruno and she’ll be doing some more weekly Red Sox columns when the season starts or maybe even before then. She’s busy with her real job at the Springfield Republican where she recently started up a Boston Bruins blog. You can follow Amanda on Twitter @batterupbruno.
So if you’re a fan of any of the subjects we cover, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Also, if you know anyone who likes any of the subjects we write about, be sure to spread the word. The more the merrier.
