According to Sean McAdam of Comcast Sports New England, the Boston Red Sox were rebuffed in their efforts to host the MLB All-Star Game in 2012.
Instead, the game will be hosted by the Kansas City Royals at newly renovated Kauffman Stadium.
Red Sox management had hoped to have the game at Fenway Park to coincide with the team’s 100th anniversary of playing at the Fens.
