The Boston Red Sox returned to American League action last night and watched Jon Lester continue his mastery of the Baltimore Orioles.
Whatever it is, Lester has the Orioles number right now as he is now 8-0 in 10 career starts against them, including 3-0 at Camden Yards. Last night, his stuff was outstanding as he featured all of his pitches moving them all over the plate with good command.
“I think he knows he’s had success against us, and whenever a pitcher has success against a team, it seems like they turn it up a little,’’ Orioles designated hitter Aubrey Huff said. “You see some video of him and it looks like he leaves some pitches over and he gets hit. Against us, we just don’t get anything to hit.’’
AL All-Star balloting totals will be updated at noon today but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t vote. Some members of the Red Sox need your help as the American League All-Star balloting winds down. So go vote Red Sox. And my friend Kristen would really appreciate it if you could vote for the Nationals’ Ryan Zimmerman at third base and Adam Dunn in the outfield in the NL voting.
