Video: Standing O For DLowe

June 20th, 2009 by Ian · 4 Comments ·

As he walked back in from the visiting bullpen, former 2004 Boston Red Sox playoff hero Derek Lowe received a standing ovation from the Fenway Park faithful. Lowe was the winning pitcher in all three clinching games during the 2004 playoffs.

    We do not forget.

No we don’t. And it was great to see the second standing ovation when he left. Had he been a hitter, he would have gotten a nice ovation like Trot did back in 2007.

At the end of the sixth, with his pitch count grazing 100, I was really hoping he’d come back out and get pulled mid-inning so we could do that.

Well you did get your wish there. I thought maybe Cox would have shut him down after the 6th but he didn’t. Bobby Cox would have probably gotten booed if he didn’t give ya’ll a chance to give Lowe his props.
