After beating the Florida Marlins last night 8-2, the Boston Red Sox will look for another win on what is a very special night for baseball at Fenway Park. It is the 500th consecutive sellout at the Fens.
The game tonight will start at 7:10 PM EDT and will be televised in the Red Sox television market on NESN. If you live in the Marlins television market, you can catch the game on Fox Sports Florida. And if the television isn’t your cup of tea, you can catch the game on one of the many affiliates of the Red Sox Radio Network.
Brad Penny will be looking for his 100th career win against his former club tonight. Penny’s made 12 starts this season and is 5-2 with a 5.32 ERA. He has faced the Marlins before and is 1-1 with 5.00 ERA in 3 starts. Penny made 63 appearances (62 starts) for the Marlins and was 27-13 with a 3.57 ERA.
Andrew Miller starts for the Marlins tonight and he’s no stranger to the American League as he was traded to Florida in the Miguel Cabrera/Dontrelle Willis deal a year and half ago. Miller has made 10 appearances (8 starts) this season and is 2-2 with a 4.30 ERA. He has faced the Red Sox once as member of the Detroit Tigers and picked up the win. He went seven innings, allowing one run on three hits and four walks with six strikeouts.
