
The NFL has announced that New England Patriots running back Kevin Faulk has been suspended without pay for one game for violating the leagues substance abuse policy with his marijuana arrest earlier in the year at a Lil Wayne concert in Louisiana.
Faulk whose suspension starts today can not be with the team or at the team facilities at all until September 8th. In addition he will also be fined a game check for Week 2 in essence playing for free.

Kevin Faulk of the New England Patriots has been suspended without pay for the team’s first regular-season game and fined one additional game check for violating the NFL Substance Abuse Policy.
Faulk’s suspension for the Patriots’ first regular-season game will begin on Saturday, August 30. He is eligible to return to the Patriots’ active roster on Monday, September 8 following the team’s September 7 opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
