
According to Joe McDonald of the Providence Journal, the Boston Red Sox have called up Michael Bowden from Pawtucket to take the place of Sean Casey on the 25-man roster. It appears Bowden will be pitching out of the bullpen as David Pauley is scheduled to start tomorrow night for the Red Sox Bowden will make the start tomorrow night for the Red Sox as they have sent David Pauley to the bullpen.
In 19 starts with the Portland Sea Dogs, Bowden was 9-4 with a 2.33 ERA. In 7 appearances (6 starts) with the PawSox, Bowden is 0-3 with a 3.38 ERA. He has a combined 130 strikeouts and 29 walks issued with the PawSox and Sea Dogs.
Bowden is also the second player to start the season in Portland joining Justin Masterson.







Bowden will start Saturday night and Pauley looks to stay in the pen.
