After today’s beating by the Toronto Blue Jays, the Boston Red Sox announced that they have placed reliever David Aardsma back on the 15-day disabled list with the same groin injury from his last time on the DL.
“They need guys out there to get outs,” said Aardsma. “It’s real frustrating because I know I can help this team.”
To replace Aardsma on the 25-man roster, the Red Sox have recalled David Pauley again from Pawtucket. This will be Pauley’s third go around with the Red Sox this season. He didn’t appear in a game the last time he was called up.
Aardsma had been warming up to come into the game this afternoon but his groin acted up again. He will be sent back to Boston tonight to have an MRI on his injured groin.
