Welcome to the land of the papparazzi Manny!
But before we do, we must say BYE, BYE, BYE

Number 99 Manny Ramirez
Manny Ramirez was introduced to the Los Angeles media today and really didn’t saying anything bad about the Boston Red Sox at all. Instead he wants to focus on the present and help the Dodgers get to the postseason.
He was quite entertaining during the interview switching from English to Spanish and then going right back to English.
Manny did have a special message for the fans of Boston.
“I want to say from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank the fans of Boston. I love you guys. You’ve been with me through ups and downs.”
The full video of the press conference is after the jump.
Here is the entire press conference of Manny’s this afternoon.
Editor’s note: We had some problems with Internet Explorer that have been fixed, which is why this post didn’t render until just now.

Manny went 2-for-4 (2 singles) in his Dodgers debut. They lost 2-1 to Randy Johnson and the D’backs.
On the Dodger broadcast tonight, Vin Scully explained how Manny arrived at #99. 24 is retired. He was offered 28, but there is another player in the system who has that number so he declined. He was then offered 32 and declined that. They settled on 66 and he seemed happy.
Then 20 minutes later, he came back and said he wanted 99 instead. Sounds like Manny to me!
Nothing like starting out right with your new team.
It must have been cool to listen to Scully talk about Manny in only a way Scully can.
Inhis press conference they asked him about #99 he said he didn;t understand why he had it as he asked for #34.
I know Steve, which makes Vin’s story about it all the more interesting. Love the Manny, but I am more apt to believe Vin!
we all know the guy is a moron….come on now. no doubt he is one of the best hitters in the game but if he didn’t posess this awesome talent he would be somewhere asking people if they wanna super size it for a dollar more. i live right outside the fenway area and i have been a sox fan all my life. i’m not one to shit on a plyer just because they were traded but let’s face facts….the guy is a clown….has always been a clown….and probably will always be a clown. i won’t miss him. the players seem to be glad to be rid of the distraction as well. that’s what manny had become, a MAJOR distraction.
Hey chris, this is the guy who end up your nightmare (Bambino course). the guy who brougth back glory to that lousy team…more respect
Manny didnt end the drought on his own. I think some guy named Ortiz had a little more to do with it if you want to get picky. Some guy named Lowe as well and some guy who plays outfield in NY now was just as big if not bigger. And then there was Schilling and game 6 in ny. So it wasnt all manny.
I would have to say all 25 guys and those during the season who helped out were the reasons the Red Sox won the World Series that year.
yeah but the fact that HIS bat was terrorizing the opponents pitchers since his arrival to THAT TEAM and only good things had happened in THAT TEAM since his arrival does not give a reason to that clown to call clown a distraction to this great baseball player
