Marcus Williams is heading to Golden State.
According to a report on NY Post, the New Jersey Nets have sent former UConn Huskies point guard Marcus Williams to the Golden State Warriors for a lottery protected 1st round pick in the 2011 draft.
If the Warriors make the playoffs, the Nets will get the pick in 2011. If the Warriors are in the lottery in 2011, it becomes a lottery protected pick in 2012 and also in 2013 if not used. If the pick hasn’t been used by 2013, it becomes a 2nd round pick in 2013 and 2015.
After Williams came back from injury, he spent time backing up Jason Kidd and then Devin Harris after Kidd was traded. Williams become expendable when the Nets signed free agent Keyon Dooling.
In his 2-year career with the Nets, he averaged 6.4 points and 3 assists per game.

Before I go off to Tah-heel country on vacation with no Bosox, thought I’d just say that I hope he gets to play more. He was a great player at Uconn, even with his troubles. too bad he’ll be on West Coast – wont’ get too much tv here.
