Josh Beckett seeks win #10
After watching last night’s Boston Red Sox game, I’ve come to a conclusion. It was just a bad dream. As Steve pointed out in a comment, it was like an NFL team coming off the bye week. They looked sluggish and while the time off may have helped them heal their nagging injuries, it didn’t do anything for their bats as the home bats seemed to have been left behind at Fenway Park yet again.
Terry Francona will put the ball in the right arm of one Josh “Baseball” Beckett as he looks to go for his 10th win of the season. His job is simple, stop Joe Saunders from getting his AL leading 13th win of the season. Beckett struggled last time out in getting his 9th win and hasn’t pitched for the Red Sox in 10 days. In his career against the Halos, Beckett sports a 2-0 record with a 2.16 ERA in 4 games started.
In his career against the Red Sox, Saunders is 3-0 with a 2.92 ERA in four starts.
By now you’ve seen the video of Manny attempting, and I use that term loosely, to be like Jacoby Ellsbury or Coco Crisp and make a diving catch. Well our friend Dan over at Red Sox Monster has some home video from Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
For all you Jed Lowrie lovers out there, he will be introducing the Red Sox lineups today on FOX. This little tidbit comes to us from Tony Massarotti of the Boston Herald.
Lowrie had an audience that included several teammates, who encouraged him to introduce Manny Ramirez in the following manner:
“Batting fourth and playing left field, Manny `Stop, Drop and Roll‘ Ramirez.â€
I guess we’ll have to wait until Lowrie announces the lineups to see what he says. Does that also mean that members of the Red Sox read my blog since that was the title of my post early this morning about the catch.
I know y’all love yourselves a good musical montage from NESN so here is the opening from last night’s game.
Hopefully the Red Sox will go out and rock the Angels today. The song also serves as inspiration for our weekly post called “For Those Who Blog, We Salute You“.
Lineups and batter/pitcher matchups after we take 10 second timeout for station identification on the SOX & Dawgs blog network.

I missed the fox intro’s did he do it?
and is Eric Karros high? when talking about Manny he said the Sox arent afraid to shy away from players they did it with Nomar, Derek Lowe and Bronson Arroyo. Bronson Arroyo? toke toke cough exhale dude.
He did it. I just posted the video.
First of all. I’ve been coming to your blog for a few months now and I have to tell you that I love it & I check in often. So thank you Ian for an awesome read everyday. I don’t talk to Steve much because he scares me a little and I’ll cry if he yells at me. I keed. *not really*
Anyway, Last night was horrible and I better not see that again.
Yeah, Manny’s play last night was a jaw dropper but hey, ya gotta love him!
I do believe someone in the Red Sox organization may have been reading your blog. Very cool!
Right now it’s 2 – 0. We must hold onto the lead.
Win
Kim you think I get cranked up now, wait til football season when all the Patriot-haters come out. I do my best work then
I love people with well thought out statements. I/we don’t always have to agree but people need to think about stuff before they post it. People don’t need to keep coming at Ian and I with the same ol’d tired BS arguement they’ve had for two months that they’ll use at the drop of a hat. Don’t say I’d kill to have this player or that player. Tell me why you think it’s such a good idea and back it up. If I don’t agree I’ll tell you why it’s a bad idea, with the facts, and that’s what I did.
Thank you very much Kim. It’s very much appreciated.
Don’t worry about Steve, he’s harmless. He is right though, if you’re not going back it up with facts, then why make the point. We always try to back up our thoughts like that with facts and we may not agree all the time but when it starts to get personal that’s a different story.
But you don’t have anything to worry about
This blog is great, I concur!
Thank you Matthew, it’s very much appreciated by Steve and myself.
You’re welcome you guys! You are both awesome.
Steve, I was just messing with you. I think you’re terrific and I LOVE how you set people straight.
I know you were but some people may not understand where I’m coming from, now they do.
