Posey will be looking for his 3rd ring in 4 years in N'awlins
The Boston Celtics lost one of their leaders off the bench this afternoon as James Posey agreed to a 4-year deal worth $25 million to play for the New Orleans Hornets.
Posey was an unrestricted free agent and while he was talking to other teams, the Celtics were hoping he’d take their mid-level exemption worth about $5.6 million for 2-3 years. Posey wanted a longer contract and decided New Orleans was the place for him.
The addition of Posey will give the Hornets a stronger bench as they look to push past the teams in the Western Conference. It will be interesting to see what Celtics GM Danny Ainge has up his sleeve to replace Posey on the Green bench.
