This should be a classic series!
It’s a huge series for both teams and something we haven’t seen in a long time with neither team in first place.
Right now the Red Sox lead over the Yankees for second place is 4 games. The Red Sox can put some distance between themselves and the Yanks or the Yanks can get close or it stays status quo.
Needless to say, it will hopefully be some of the best baseball of the season.
I hate to be melodramatic here but this is Jon Lester’s time to really shine and show baseball fan’s he has arrived. With the exception of the blip in Houston last weekend he has been pretty much spot on all season.
The team, especially the bullpen, needs a huge effort from him tonight I think he is up to it as we get to watch a guy who is developing into one of the best left handed starters in baseball.
(Now that I’ve said who wants to bet he gets shelled tonight? lol.)
