Michael Levine, a former Drug Enforcement Administration supervisor says that the safety of New England Patriots lineman Nick Kaczur could be compromised because his identity was revealed.
Levine told the Boston Herald that depending on his level of covert activity Kaczur could be in danger “from anyone he’s targeted”.
“Anytime you reveal publicly someone’s been an informant you expose him to danger,” said Levine, a former inspector of DEA Field Operations who once arrested two agents on charges of outing an informant.Â
The lawyer for the defendant, Daniel Ekasala, has said that Kaczur is the unidentified cooperating witness listed in the court affidavit as wearing a wiretap and making three purchases of $3,900 worth of OxyContin in three separate stings on May 1, May 6 and May 13.
Federal authorities have not identified the informant and the Patriots and the NFL have had no comment on Kaczur’s status because of the ongoing investigation.
Kaczur was arrested on April 27th in upstate New York when it was discovered he had pills in his possession he did not have a prescription for during a traffic stop for speeding.

Well I guess this totally explains why Kazcur was denying any involvement when the Boston Globe stopped by his house.
Now he’s going to need his own 5 layers of protection.
I think he’s more worried about beig deported back to Canuckistan.
As for his safety its not like he infiltrated a drug ring and knows who the kingpin is. He bought oxycodone from a street dealer who obviously has some sort of connection the feds want. I’d say the dealer is in more danger than Kaczur.
It was also pretty sleazy of the dealers attorney to reveal Kaczur’s identity.
some more news oming out of the dealers camp. I don’t think it’s post worthy but I’ll provide the link.
The basic premis is that Ekasala and Kaczur supposedly were friends and that Kaczur took him shopping at Reebok.
