Now that I have had some time to catch up on things here, I have put the videos in more of an order. If you missed last night’s Boston Red Sox vs Baltimore Orioles game, you missed history being made as Manny Ramirez hit the 500th home run of his career.
First up is the home run call from Don Orsillo of NESN with some added video from after the home run including the reaction of the Red Sox players and the fans in Baltimore.
Second up is a great musical montage from the fine musical montage makers at NESN of Manny’s path to 500 home runs. Enjoy.
Third video up is the interview Heidi Watney conducted with Manny after the game.
More video goodness after the jump.
Fourth video up is the person who caught the ball, Damon Woo, presenting it to Manny and also an interview with Damon and his brother Jason.
Last video up is some Manny Being Manny moments from NESN. Enjoy it folks.
And a special bonus treat for you. Here are shots of the home run and celebration afterwards courtesy of Anthony of the Oriole Post. He was at the game and got these great shots. Many thanks Anthony.

Ian, you rock. I’ll give a blanket “you rock” to all videos posted from here on, actually.
Ian, THANK YOU! Like Liza said, you rock!
Adding my voice to the chorus of “you rock!” Thank you so much for posting this and all the other video goodness!
Y’all are welcome.
As soon as AOLuncut is done processing the next set of videos (yes there are 2), I will post them. Although I should warn you that they go black & white sporadically. Don’t know what happened there but you can still see everything. For that I apologize.
NESN picks some weird songs for their montages. They used “Good Riddance(Time of Your Life)”-Green Day for the Lester no-hitter which was really weird mostly because it’s more of a goodbye song than anything else. If you wanted to pick something from Green Day, go with “Waiting”. And using “In the End”-Linkin Park for Manny’s 500th is awkward because the song is about like a breakup. I dunno, I just thing that NESN needs to work on their song choices a bit more. *rant over* However I do give them propers for using “Paralyzer”-Finger Eleven for Beckett. That was well done.
Regardless I do like the montage and I kind of like the usage of the “in spite of the way you were mocking/Acting like I was part of your property/Remembering all the times you fought with me/I’m surprised it got so far” because that kind is what Manny’s relationship with Boston was about.
They do pick some weird songs but they make great montages.
The last video to come is the presentation of the ball to Manny and then the interview with the guy who caught it.
Chorusing the thanks and you rocks Ian for the videos. Especially the first one. I was watching on mlb.tv and got the boring MASN feed.
Congrats to Manny, who recently hit 501. This is the year of Manny!
You’re very welcome. I was so busy doing all the videos last night I had forgot to add the NESN call of the home run by Don Orsillo. I had the “boring” one at first on the other post.
Piney – I thought the same thing about the song – “i tried so hard and lost it all, and in the end it doesnt even matter” doesnt seem appropriate for the moment. I thought they could have gone Foo Fighters or U2 on it.
Ian – great photos! But how in the heck was Mike Lowell able to turn back around and focus on his own at-bat?? I would have just stood there and stared at Manny.
the somersault guy is awesome – when I heard about it, I assumed it was some young kid, but hey-ohh! the 35 year old with the beer gut and bad knees went for it – thats balls, dude.
I think Lowell was just happy that he didn’t have to wait around while they switch the balls around anymore.
The somersault guy was great. I’d have to say he was slightly inebriated.
