Seems the reason the New England Patriots released tight end Kyle Brady in February because he had several mental lapses last season and even at one point abruptly left the team only to be coaxed back.
According to the Standard-Times website, Brady who was considered among the most intellectual players on the team had a hard time fitting in with teammates and had a series of mistakes running routes in practices and games that led some members of the coaching staff to question his mental toughness.
Brady who has a reputation for being a very good blocker was apparently less than stellar in the New England offensive scheme. It took enough of a toll on the 13-year NFL veteran that he actually left the team before being talked into returning.
Brady, who is currently a free agent, was drafted by the New York Jets in the first round of the 1995 NFL Draft (9th overall). After four seasons in New York he played 8 years with the Jacksonville Jaguars before signing with New England prior to last season.
