Here’s something from the world of sideline reporting. While most of the women who do this job get it for because of the pretty face they do have to conduct interviews and many are live. As someone who has conducted interviews you never know what someone will say.

One of the most famous is the Suzy Kolber-Joe Namath “I want to kiss you” sideline interview on Monday Night Football. I once had a great interview with my then four year old son on the radio talking about how he went to the beach with his grandparents and he got stung by a jelly fish. I asked, “was it a grape jellyfish?” To which he responded “Dad jellyfish don’t have flavors.” Sure it was cute and funny but it definitely wasn’t what Mid-Atlantic Sports Networks (MASN) reporter Amber Theoharis had to go through the other night during a Baltimore Orioles game.

MASN's Amber Theoharis. Could Jell-o wrestling with NESN's Heidi Watney be in her weekend plans?Geico Caveman who would have guessed he's a vegetarian? This comes from Ray Frager at the Baltimore Sun:

Between innings of Wednesday night’s Orioles game, it fell to MASN’s Amber Theoharis to conduct an interview with the fellow playing a caveman character from the insurance company commercials. He had thrown out the first pitch. Theoharis understandably tried to keep it light and joke with him, but Mr. Caveman apparently wasn’t in much of a mood for yuks. Finally, after she said something about the caveguy trying some of the fare at Boog’s Barbecue, he responded he is a vegetarian and “meat is murder.” Probably feeling as though she would have liked to club him over the head, Theoharis turned it back to the broadcast booth. Gary Thorne sympathetically said to her: “Sometimes you really earn your money.”

I have one question though. With the Red Sox in Baltimore this weekend can anyone get NESN’s Heidi Watney and Theoharis to agree to some Jell-O wrestling at the very least?

I’d love to be there tomorrow night just to see if there is a cat fight.

Then we can plaster the picture I made and see if we can get them to Jello wrestle.

You have to like my Rumble in the Jello.

The interview itself wasnt as bad as Frager made it to be the meat is murder line is a classic though. How could you not want Boog’s Barbeque?
