The Detroit Pistons jumped out to a quick lead and kept the Boston Celtics from establishing a flow as they even the Eastern Conference Finals at 2-2 with a 94-75 win at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Monday evening.

Detroit Pistons' Antonio McDyess makes a shot against the Boston Celtics' Sam Cassell and P.J. Brown during the third quarter of Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. AP Photo.Detroit jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead to start the game and even got the cushion as high as 14 in the first half before Boston battled back to a 4-point deficit at the half.

While both teams were done in with poor 3-point shooting the Celtics were absolutely awful from the floor shooting only 32% (21 of 66) for the entire game. At one point in the third quarter, Boston had more than half of the points from the free throw line. If the Celtics could have taken all their shots from the charity stripe it most likely would have been a Boston blow out as the Green went to the line 39 times making 32 of them (82.1%).

It was because of the free throws Boston couldn’t get into any type of rhythm or flow and was really unable to run. It was almost as if Detroit said we don’t care if they go to the line all night as long as we can stop them from running. But the all the fouls put two of Detroit biggest threats into foul trouble as Rasheed Wallace grabbed his 5th foul in the 3rd quarter and Richard Hamilton got his 5th with about 4 minutes to play. Tayshaun Prince and Lindsey Hunter were in foul trouble as well with 4 personals each.

Boston had players in foul trouble as well as Kendrick Perkins fouled out with 3:23 left to play and Paul Pierce and James Posey had 4 fouls apiece.

Antonio McDyess led the Pistons with 21 points and 15 rebounds, Hamilton added 20 points and Wallace chipped in with 14 points in the win.

Pierce had 16 points for the Celtics, Kevin Garnett notched another double-double with 16 points and 10 boards and Posey and Ray Allen each had 11 points.

Game 5 now moves to Boston and the TD BankNorth Garden at 8:30 on Wednesday evening.
