The City of Detroit is giving Boston a run for its money by having two teams contending for championships right now.
Currently the Detroit Red Wings are playing in the Stanley Cup Finals as they host the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game One on Saturday night and Game Two on Monday night at the Joe Louis Arena. The Red Wings are searching for their fourth Stanley Cup championship since 1997 and the 11th in team history.
The Detroit Pistons meanwhile are hosting the Boston Celtics in Game Three of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday night at the Palace at Auburn Hills. They also have Game Four on Monday night. Should the Pistons win the series they will be playing for their fourth NBA title and second since 2004.
It could be a good time to be a Detroit sports fan. Luckily they manufacturer automobiles in Detroit that way there will be an endless supply for the fans to burn should they win a title or two.
