Top 10 Manny Being Manny Moments

Manny Being Manny

After seeing the latest episode of “Manny Being Manny”, the geniuses at ESPN (wow did I just say that) thought it would be an appropriate time to revisit the top 10 past episodes of “Manny Being Manny” including yesterday’s. Here is the video goodness of that from Baseball Tonight.

Click here to view the clip.

Update: Red Lasso has pulled the clip from their site and I’ve been unable to find it anywhere else.

My favorite moment is when he made the diving stop of the throw from Damon with today’s being a close second. Although the one that Peter Gammons told about his suits is pretty damn funny and good too.

What is your favorite Manny being Manny moment? Let us know in the comments.

Thank you very much for this Ian! Nothing like a little Manny Being Manny Classic Reel to end a day…and help forget about their pathetic play this afternoon (besides the Manny play of course)
Anyways, for me all the Manny Moments were amazing. I remember watching the game where he disappeared into the monster and realizing that when the game was about to resume Manny was no where to be found! You can’t script this stuff…
And every single time I see that clip where he cuts off Damon I laugh…I can’t help it…it’s so stupid and yet so damn funny @ the same time. How can anyone hate this guy…
O and that play was also pretty damn funny where he called off the SS when the ball was nowhere near him. That one made me laugh the hardest. This is why you gotta love Manny being Manny and hope that there’s many more moments to come.
Oh and all you idiots out there who complain about Manny showing off all the time…shut up. He doesn’t do it to show any one up…its just well Manny being Manny. When he hit the HR to make it a 7-3 deficit in Game 5 of the ALCS last yr, his celebration made me laugh in a time when I was very angry. He loosens things up even when he doesn’t mean too. Manny is the kind of guy who makes baseball great…and o, yea he’s pretty damn talented too.

He definitely isn’t doing it to show off.

How many guys are going to make a catch like that and then decide hey I’m going high-five the guy in the stands? The only one who comes to mind is Manny.

The Manny highlight was a bright spot in an otherwise dismal day for the Red Sox.

Manny has created so many funny and bizarre moments that I couldn’t possibly pick one. Although, after watching yesterdays catch, high five and amazing throw to first, this one is my favorite ….. until the next one.

Thank you for the video. I missed it on Baseball Tonight because I watching Boston Legal. This is absolutely hilarious. I don’t think I’ve actually laughed out loud as hard for any other video as I did watching this video. MBM at its finest.

He’s an awful role model for younger players, but he is absolutely phenomenal for the game, and you can’t help but love to watch him play.

Glorious. Absolutely glorious. But not as much as your SuperPedie icon.

    • Ian

I don’t know about that. I think the catch is just a little bit better than my SuperPedie icon. But not by much.

i’m sure its been said before you shouldnt be fooled by his relaxed manner. what it is in real terms is very efficient, with no extra testosterone or posturing. just look at his “sneaky” arm as trot nixon put it and how many guys got thrown out at 2nd. it’s time for those uninformed espn announcers to realize that he is a damn decent outfielder at fenway and has gotten MUCH better than he was say 4 years ago..name another hitter who is that laid back AND that good.
plus we all know manny is no slouch as far as practice goes and showing up early.

I think this play may be my new favorite, but the funniest one has to be Manny petting his beloved (now ex-)teammate Julian Tavares’ head like he was some kind of Chia pet. As an added bonus we got a classic NESN Orsillo/Remy moment including hysterical laughing/wheezing Don (”Make him stop!”)

  • Ian

Very true that was a double bonus clip with Manny and Yo-Yo plus D.O./RemDawg.
