So how do you think Heidi Watney did in her NESN debut as the Boston Red Sox field reporter?
Myself, I don’t think she did all that bad. She did appear a little nervous in her first on-air interview with the Mayor Sean Casey and she did mess up by saying the Tigers started 0-6 this season when they started 0-7. Other than that, I think she had a good night.
I will let you judge for yourself on how she did in her NESN debut. (IE users click here to watch)

Man, you are too kind. Her one stand-up during the game was horrible. She tripped over her tongue, misspoke, ended up obviously just reading from her notes. Looks are good, but she has to be able to do the job, too.
Maybe I was a little too kind but in the overall grand scheme of things she was decent. As the Track Girls would say, file that under first night jitters.
I think as she goes on this week she will get better. She’s probably her toughest critic anyways.
She’s got a lot of pressure on her with the “Nation” looking at her on a nightly basis now.
I thought she looked great! It will really be tough watching her night after night.
Her name is Heidi, She is beautiful and intelligent. Tina Who?
She has almost no experience, and was hired (obviously) because she’s a hot blonde bombshell, NOT because she has anything else to add to a baseball broadcast.
Brutal. Just brutal.
First rate hire. She is an above average reporter and will get better. I loved Tina and predict I will love Heidi.
I was sad to see Tina Cervasio go and felt we should have paid top money to keep her. However, google her and watch her youtube videos. To me she is smooth, seems to know the game of baseball, quick on her feet. She is gonna be awesome! I think we got a good one here. Those first night jitters will be gone before you know it.
It wasn’t a case of money with Tina, it was the fact that she didn’t get to see her husband all that often with him working in NY. It was a chance to be close to her family.
Heidi’s definitely gotten better over the past few games and will continue to do so.
…stick with the guys that are knowledgable on the sport to report them is all i’ll say. The only reason shes there is because shes an attractive woman. …but she adds nothing to the sport itself. Bad move, dumb move.
KT she’s been doing a lot better as she has gotten her bearings and feeling more comfortable around the team. She was thrown into the fire by not starting back in spring training so now she needs to develop those relationships that Tina Cervasio had with the team.
