If you’re a fan of the UConn Huskies football team, you can expect Tyvon Branch and Donald Thomas to come off the draft board early after the draft restarts at 10 AM this morning on ESPN and the NFL Network.
There’s an outside chance that Danny Lansanah, Larry Taylor and Dan Davis will be drafted late in the day with Lansanah the favorite of the three. Last year, the only Huskies player taken was Deon Anderson, who went in the 6th round to the Dallas Cowboys.
Todd McShay had Branch going 61st overall pick (2nd round) to the Cowboys yesterday and that didn’t happen. McShay has Thomas going to the Packers with the 128th pick overall (4th round). He has Lansanah being selected as the “Mr. Irrevelant” of the draft (252nd pick, 7th round) by the St. Louis Rams. Scouts, Inc is projecting that Branch will be taken 85th overall (3rd round) by the Tennessee Titans.
If you’re a fan of the New England Patriots, they still have six picks left in the draft. They have three in the 3rd round and 1 each in the 4th, 6th and 7th rounds. Their 5th round draft choice went to the New Orleans Saints in the trade on Saturday.
Here is a look at where the Patriots will draft during the day.
- 3rd round (69th overall, from Oakland)
- 3rd round (78th overall, from New Orleans)
- 3rd round (94th overall, original pick)
- 4th round (129th overall, original pick)
- 6th round (197th overall, original pick)
- 7th round (238th overall, original pick)
