Late Morning Red Sox Delight – 4/20

Manny watches HR #496

The Boston Red Sox won’t be playing any night baseball for the next two days. Today’s game starts at 1:35 PM, hence the reason why the normal afternoon post is earlier than normal. Then tomorrow on Patriots Day and Boston Marathon day, they will start at 11:05 AM.

The latest Red Sox Nation ad is out as I first saw it during last night’s telecast. Here it is for y’all to enjoy.

In some AL East news, one day after benching Frank Thomas, the Blue Jays have released him. He was batting .167 with 3 homers and 11 RBIs. This move surprises me even though he’s struggling at the plate. There are a lot of players struggling with the bat right now in MLB. While the Blue Jays aren’t saying it publicly, it does appear this move was financial. Manny Delcarmen just started to breathe a little easier with this announcement.

Here are some stats from the Maniacal One.
