Miggy and Big Papi

I know I’ve been reminding y’all a lot about the Boston Red Sox game tonight and the fact it’s on NESN Plus tonight. Click here to find the NESN Plus channel on your cable or satellite provider. The pre-game show will still air on NESN but start @ 5:30 PM. For those of us with Comcast in Connecticut, it’s on CN8. For those with COX, it will be on COX Sports Channel 3. For Charter Communications in Willimantic, the game is on Channel 72 and for Charter Communications in Winsted, the game is on Channel 78.

I saw this last night on the GoldBlog over at the Hartford Courant. The Lowell Spinners, the short-season Single-A affiliate of the Red Sox, is making the red-tailed hawk the mascot of their Yankees Elimination Promotion and also that Big Papi is a hawk enthusiast. Knowing the ownership group of the Spinners myself, they have always come up with great promotions and ideas. And this is just another one.

Here’s an update from Rob Bradford on Alex Cora who was injured taking ground balls today.

Alex Cora is currently icing his right elbow after feeling a twinge while making throws from third base earlier today. The infielder is scheduled to be evaluated by Dr. Thomas Gill at 5 p.m. Mike Lowell is currently at Mass General having an MRI done on his right thumb. It is expected that either Joe Thurston, Jed Lowrie, or Keith Ginter will be headed to Boston shortly.

A look at tonight’s starting lineups and batter-pitcher matchups after the jump.

I guess Alex Cora doesn’t rate high up there at all. His injury was not mentioned once during the entire pre-game show tonight.

were they too busy staring at K-Tap to do any research? Also they need to end this job search and put someone as a sideline reporter this has gone on way too long. They knew months in advance that Tina was leaving and this should have been completed by now.

and shockingly enough, DO had Amalie Benjamin on and she didn’t say anything on that. But what shocked me the most was no one said anything the entire hour.

The way it seemed was that Heidi character was a shoo-in. Wonder if they are waiting for the 2009 season to bring someone in.
