According to a source, Boston Red Sox pitcher Bartolo Colon will miss his next start in Pawtucket with pain his side. It is thought that he will miss just the one start.
Colon was outstanding in his last start for the PawSox as he went 5 innings, throwing 74 pitches, allowing one hit and walking one. A very impressive start as he looks to join the Red Sox and help them out.
It was expected that Colon would make two more starts in Pawtucket, increasing his pitch count each time out. Now with the injury to his side, that plan could change.
Update: The Boston Globe picked up on this at 9:54 AM reporting that he tweaked his oblique. And the Pro Jo is confirming he will his at least one start as the PawSox will place him on the 7-day DL.
Hopefully, I’ll get some more tips like this before MSM.
