The New England Patriots are reportedly interested in Tennessee Titans cornerback/suspended bad boy Adam “Pacman” Jones. Detroit, Oakland, Kansas City, Houston, New Orleans and Dallas are among those to also have expressed at least some level of interest.
Jones, who was suspended all of last season, could come up for review for re-instatement prior to the NFL Draft in April. Jones who was the 6th overall pick in the 2005 draft is considered a top cover corner and is an extremely dangerous punt returner.
But he is becoming more well known for his off field behavior than his actions on Sundays. He’s been arrested six times since being drafted by the Titans and was at the center of a Las Vegas strip club melee in February 2007 that left a man paralyzed. He’s currently serving three years probation, stemming from an incident in Fayette County, Ga., where he was alleged to have bitten a police officer’s hand.
So the questions begs to be asked. Does “Pacman” Jones flourish in Foxboro? Is he the next Randy Moss or Corey Dillon? Do the Patriots have enough locker room presence to make it work? What makes Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli think this could work?

are the patriots becoming the oakland raiders?
I think its more of the Pats doing their due diligence to see what he would cost and possibly get more background on him other than what is publically known.
Even if he did come here (and I’d say thats about a 15% chance, I wont rule it out but it’s a long shot that I think wont happen) its quite possible that someone like Randy Moss went to Belichick and/or Pioli and said hey I’d be willing to help school this kid I think he is worth it.
Or it could be that the front office feels they have more than enough influence to straighten him out, although Jeff Fischer is a tough minded coach in Tennessee but I’m not sure what the make up of their locker room is like. Here you have Harrison, who takes no crap, Bruschi is tough mined, then you have Seymour, Brady, Moss, who bought in 100%, Vrabel and possibly Seau, Law and Brown. That’s an awful lot of veteran presence. and possibly they feel it could work if he had the right atmosphere.
They’d just have to keep him out of the Providence strip clubs, the Foxy Lady and Cheaters.
i think its a longshot …not that the patriots couldn’t help him play even better than he is. but as fan i just want them to go and win the superbowl next year. no perfect records no most td’s or whatever just win the superbowl. if they did that this year no one would be going” oh god, whats this?.. pacman jones…” its like there trying to sell us this patriot myth thing and i’m tired of it . yeah, he’s a good player, has some personal issues (would i love him to play for the pats. heck, yeah.) but selling this image of the pats can turn all these punk players around is wearing thin.
but they do it. its not like they take them in and theres problems.
