The Boston Celtics won their fifth consecutive game after hitting the post All-Game skids with a 98-88 win over the Atlanta Hawks in front of a sold out TD BankNorth Garden on Sunday evening.

Once again the Green had a strong third quarter that propelled them to the win. In most instances this season the Celtics have come out strong out of the gate in the second half and it has translated to a NBA best record of 46-12.

Boston was led by the Parquet Posse as captain Paul Pierce had 30 points, Kevin Garnett had a double-double with 20 points and 16 boards and Ray Allen chipped in 17 points. Kendrick Perkins also had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Atlanta was paced by Josh Smith who had 22 points, rookie Al Horford had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Mike Bibby also had 14 points in the loss, which dropped the Hawks to 24-33.

Tony Allen and Brian Scalabrini both missed the game with calf injuries.

Boston continues its homestand Wednesday night when the Detroit Pistons come for a visit.
