Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas has chosen a contract offer from the Dallas Cowboys over one from the New England Patriots and another from the New Orleans Saints.
Thomas, 34, was released by the Dolphins two weeks ago after playing in only five games in 2007.
The deal is expected to be a multi-year contract with stipulations that would force Dallas officials to make a determination on Thomas’ status after the first year. It is believed that Thomas received a $1 million signing bonus and that the first year of the contract is loaded with incentives.
