I am I am I am Superman and I know what’s happening.
I am I am I am Superman and I can do anything. (REM)
For those of you who missed the NBA Slam Dunk Contest last night, you missed one of the better ones in a long time. Even Superman made an appearance as Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic donned a Superman cap for a dunk.
Gerald Green from the Minnesota Timberwolves may have been the defending champion but even his “birthday cake” dunk was no match for Superman. Jamario Moon from the Toronto Raptor and former UConn Husky Rudy Gay from the Memphis Grizzlies didn’t stand a chance with those two in the contest.
To see all the creativity watch the video below.

I know you don’t love that guy ya make it with now do ya.
I thought Howard got robbed last year and you could see he really thought about his dunks this year. I’m sure Green thought the “birthday cake” dunk was going to win it for him, but he needed to do that one first before Howard did his behind the backboard dunk.
The thing I am happy about is that the Slam Dunk Contest seems to be back now after sucking for a while. Two good years in a row.
The Superman dunk wasnt great in that it wasnt a dunk but a shot from 2-3 feet out. He threw the ball into the hoop. You want dunks, go to You Tube and search Julius Erving, David Thompson and Dominique Wilkens. Those are dunks and they were “original”. everyone else is just copying stuff they did.
Hey, at least it was fun to watch. Or, actually it was fun to listen to Sir Charles, especially after his compatriot came back from the bathroom with a bottle of cranberry juice in hand, and Charles stated “so that’s what cranberry juice looks like without vodka.”
