Boston Celtics All-Star forward Kevin Garnett is expected to return to action, barring any setbacks, on Tuesday night against the Denver Nuggetts as the Green embark on a five games in seven days western road trip after the All-Star break.
Garnett, who was the top vote getter for today’s NBA All-Star game but will not play, hasn’t played since a Celtics win on January 26th against his old team the Minnesota Timbervolves in Boston. During that game, Garnett left for the floor for several minutes in the 4th quarter, only to return and help lead the team to a close win. Turns out he strained an abdominl muscle during that game and has missed the last 9 games in which the Celtics went an amazing 7-2.
Garnett, in his first season wearing the NBA’s most storied uniform, has played in 41 games averaging 35.1 minutes, 19.2 points, 9.9 reounds, 1.4 blocks, 1.4 steals and 3.8 assists per game. He is also an 80.3% free throw shooter.

Just in time. That’s a doozie of a west-coast swing over the next week and a half.
