According to some NASCAR rule Ashley Judd in a dress is dangerous. Well duh. Let me rephrase that. Ashley Judd in a dress on pit road and in the garage is dangerous. Well double duh. Geez, I feel like George W. Bush talking about how OB-GYN’s have love for their patients.
Let’s try again. It is “common knowledge” that shorts, dresses, skirts, tank tops, sandals and open toe shoes are not allowed on pit road and in the garage for safety reasons. This I can see. Dropped tools, parts, flying debris, sand and small stones thrown around by car exhaust can all cause considerable injury. And having your body parts covered as much as possible is a smart move.
According to David Newton of ESPN.com there’s an apparent double standard now on pit road when it comes to Judd who, is married to NASCAR rookie Dario Franchitti, arrived on Sunday for qualifying at Daytona International Speedway wearing a low-cut black dress adorned with multicolored tulips.
Apparently NASCAR is willing to let Judd dress as she wishes, an obvious double standard, but hey they must feel no one is complaining about seeing the Kentucky Wildcat all dolled up. And seem more intent on how this might boost ratings instead of being a safety issue.
All I want to know is who is Tony Stewart going to punch out in the pits when Judd’s dress gets blown up over her head and he runs his car into the barriers because he was distracted by her “Rick Pitino Sucks” tramp stamp.
“You’re right, she does stand out in a dress,” NASCAR exec Jim Hunter said. “However, Ashley Judd would stand out if she had on a pair of overalls.”
NASCAR is just appreciative it’s Ashley wandering around the pits dressed like that and not her sister, Wynonna.

Many open wheel fans are thrilled to death she’s left to go annoy Nascar fans now. Visit http://www.themockdock.com and click on the I Hate Ashley Judd category to read about all of her annoying habits on pit lane and elsewhere.
I dont know how many NASCAR fans she’ll annoy, her mother and sister (The Judds) are God’s to most of them hillbillies.
There’s “common knowledge” and then there’s “actual rules”. NASCAR doesn’t enforce gentleman’s agreements, thus it’s not a double standard. The drivers can yell at Dario if they want to.
It was implied in the Newton article that they have enforced it in the past, hence the double standard.
No one would probably complain if it were Jeff Gordon’s wife or even Jimmy Johnson’s who are much better looking than Ashley Judd.
Yeah they’re good looking but no one shows the old school spirit like Ashley Judd does. The next time on of those women sit in the crowd with the regular folk (students) will be the first.
they should not be making exceptions in NASCAR !!!!!
yeehaw!!!
This is the only photo I have found of her so far from the race today.
Those of you opinionated people who are trashing Ashley and her family are just quite simply JEALOUS! She’s gorgeous, a great actor, comes from a talented family, HILLBILLIES? Get over it! She’s here for a while so good luck to her husband and her I say.
I never said she wasnt hot, I’d do her thats for sure. and as someone who worked for many years at a country music station I stand by my hillbillies comment.
PLEASE tell me you don’t listen to that anymore.
