Paw Prints - Gridiron News

In keeping with the academic achievements of the UConn student-athletes, the UConn Huskies football team had five players named to the Big East All-Academic Team.

WR Brad Kanuch, QB Tyler Lorenzen, DT Zak Penwell, DT Alex Polito and TE Derek Rich all were honored for their first time by the Big East in regards to their academics. To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete had to have been a letterwinner for the 2007 season, have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 and completed two semesters of academics at the school.

Rich has since transferred out of the UConn program.

Congratulations to the five mentioned above.
