The Boston Celtics got back to their winning ways tonight as they beat the Los Angeles Clippers 111-100 at the TD BankNorth Garden on Wednesday night.

Playing their 5th consecutive game without All-Star Kevin Garnett Boston got some solid performances from their secondary players as the won for the 9th time in 10 tries on the second night of a back-to-back.

Rajon Rondo led the Green with a career high 24 points and 8 assists, Ray Allen had 19 points and Paul Pierce, who was once again battling the flu, chipped in with 15.

The Clippers got a game high 33 points and 8 boards from Corey Maggette, 16 points from Cuttino Mobley and 12 points from Chris Kaman. Los Angeles also had 10 points from Quinton Ross and 10 points from Sam Cassell before he got ejected for a flagrant foul on Rondo. Ironically Cassell is seeking a buyout from LA so that he can come to Boston and play as Rondo’s back up.

With the win the Celtics improve to 37-9 and are still undefeated against the Western Conference with a 14-0 record. They play again on Friday night when they go to Minnesota to face the Timberwolves. Head coach Doc Rivers said after the game that Garnett will make the trip but is almost certain not to play against his former team.
