New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may be a superstar here in the U.S. and even in other places around the world, but when it comes to his girlfriend Gisele Bundchen’s hometown in Brazil he is virtually unknown.

Bundchen’s father, Valdir, has only met him once but he says “he seems to be a nice person”. Brady has never been to his house in Horizontina, in fact Gisele hasn’t been there in years, they met on Bundchen family trip to the U.S. Valdir Bundchen will get another chance to meet his daughter’s boyfriend, this weekend, in Arizona where he will be watching him play for the first time.

Brady and his lineman should open a mutual admiration society. Brady and his five layers of protection have the same goal on the field and are friends off of it.

Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia is the only member of the staff to go to all six of the teams Super Bowls. Scarnecchia has been a Patriots coach for 24 of the last 26 years only leaving for two years, 1989 and 1990, to be part of Ron Meyer’s staff in Indianapolis. He was hired in 1982 by Meyer and has coached alongside six Patriots head coaches – Meyer, Raymond Berry, Dick McPherson, Bill Parcells, Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick and for three owners – Victor Kiam, James Orthwein and Robert Kraft.

Because of the large point spread the sports books in Las Vegas are practically begging Patriots fans to come bet on their team. It appears right now that about 75% of the wagers are on the Giants.

Good news Patriots fans, Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey who is on the injured reserve list and unable to play, is coming to Glendale for the game. It’s unknown if he’ll be on the sideline but he will be at the game. I just hope some reporters get to him so we can get some really good quotes.

Don’t forget to check out Comcast Sports Net/New England’s “Road to Perfection” post game special following the game. Check your local listings for CSN on you cable or satellite system.

And just one final word as this should be the final “In The Red Zone” before the game on Sunday, unless something breaks as the teams are no longer available to the media until after the game.

If you are going to the game or already there and checking out the blog be aware that Maricopa County has one of the strictest DUI laws around. So be safe and don’t drink and drive. Ever.

It’s been a pleasure the last two weeks giving you stuff on the Super Bowl now really all that’s left is the game itself and I’ll have the recap for you on Sunday night. If it warrants we may even run a game day ITRZ for you if we have stuff to pass on. Enjoy your parties, root for your team and behave yourself. If you missed anything this week, like the game preview, our predictions, etc you can catch up on all the Super Bowl related material as well as anything we’ve done on the Patriots this year.

I for one have truly appreciated your tireless efforts in doing all of these Patriots posts the past two weeks and during the season.

I know others probably do too but are too shy to say it in the comments.

Count me amongst those that have enjoyed the updates – great stuff!

The Giants can’t trade Shockey and over -active mouth too soon.
