December 18th, 2007 by Ian · 27 Comments ·

2008 NFL Pro Bowl NOTE: If you are looking for the 2009 NFL Pro Bowl Rosters go there.

The 2008 NFL Pro Bowl rosters came out today and the Dallas Cowboys led all teams with 11 players on the team. The New England Patriots and San Diego Chargers led the AFC with 8 players chosen each.

The best story of the Pro Bowl rosters has to be the announcement of Sean Taylor as the starting free safety for the NFC squad. As we all know, Taylor was gunned down in his Miami home last month and passed away from the injuries suffered.

The teams were selected by the players, coaches and the fans. A look at the teams after the jump.

how can the cowboys have more players going to the pro bowl than the pats– does this mean the experts who pick r saying they boy’s hyave a better team

  • Casey

    8? Only 8?

    Casey

  • Casey

Is Fred Taylor EVER gonna catch a break?

    Casey

  • Ian

He is the first alternate if that means anything but I agree he should have been voted in already. He averages 1 YPC more than both Parker and Addai.

  • scott

Tom Brady was selected to the Pro Bowl?!? :-)

  • Steve

First here is Len Pasquarelli’s snub list .

second some guy on the ESPN comment thinks Derek Anderson and David Garrard got hosed. So if you want Anderson and Garrard to be AFC QBs which one of these three — Brady, P.Manning or Roethlisberger — do you leave off?

and finally re: how can the cowboys have more players going to the pro bowl than the pats– does this mean the experts who pick r saying they boy’s have a better team

It doesn’t say that at all. It say’s the Patriots play in a better, more competetive conference (AFC) than the Cowboys (NFC). The NFC has far less talent to pick from when it comes to other teams than the AFC does.

  • mogli

impossible……how can the cowboys have 11 players. They are clearly a sorry team. The packers whould have more people. The Cowboys SUCK!!!!But Brett Favre is the best pick on there, and Donald Driver should start before T.O..And what the hell is Tony Homo doing there, Eli is better than that fagget.

  • Ian

Mogli I guess you haven’t watched the Giants and pick-6 Eli lately. The Cowboys and Packers are the two superior teams in the NFC. Had the Pats been a NFC team, you might have seen the entire starting 22 on the roster.

  • Steve

Dont forget Pro Bowl voting is also a popularity contest, many times player are chosen or not based on how well liked/disliked they are or their team is.

  • COWBOYS RULE

hey Queer from the jungle book (thats you mogli you stupid retarded fuck) green bay isnt half the team dallas is and that showed when they whiped their ass you cock suckin fagget quit hating on a team JUST beacuse they beat YOUR SORRY TEAMS ASS!! oh yeah are you a bears fan too??

  • Ian

So Cowboys Rule did your mom not let you out of the basement for Christmas and that’s why you’re all bent out of shape. And by the way, the Patriots beat your great average team.

  • Payton

    Matt Birk is a stud.

  • Andrew

Umm the reason why the cowbows have more players than the pats is because the NFC sucks compared to the AFC.

  • Ian

I’ve added in the replacements to the Pro Bowl Rosters and will continue to do so as they are announced.

  • Alexis

    hey whats up with urlacher

  • Steve

Alexis meaning what? why didnt he make it?

I think the play of the team hurt him. Face it that defense wasn’t anywhere near what it was in 2006 and I think part of that was Urlacher’s play wasn’t as solid.

  • Ian

I’m thinking Urlacher is probably somewhere in a warm tropical climate that isn’t Hawaii right now enjoying some R&R.

  • Ian

All of the Washington Redskins players will be wearing #21 in the game. I have also updated the rosters.

  • Steve

I expect after the Super Bowl you will probably see a few other guys drop out most likely to not play will be Brady.

  • Ian

The Dallas Cowboys are now up to 13 players going to Hawai’i. That’s almost 1/4 of their 53-man roster.

  • Steve

well its not like they’re practicing for the Super Bowl so they have some spare time

  • Ian

[Comment ID #17345 Will Be Quoted Here]

Good call. Tom Brady and Randy Moss have dropped out of the Pro Bowl.

  • Steve

As did Jamal Williams who is being replaced by Casey Hampton

  • RaiderNation

I don’t know what has me more peeved…. Raider’s sell-out RandyMoss not going to the probowl. or the Super Bowl Champions only having one player in the pro bowl, and a defensive player at that! (at least it was a defensive end…)

  • Steve

If you’re a Raiders fan you have a lot more to worry about than being upset over Randy Moss.

  • Sammy

Seriously they really should have more than one player from the Giants…..give them some credit! Should have at least put Eli and Strahan on the roster.

  • Steve

The pro bowl has nothing to do with how well you played in the playoffs. It barely has anything to do with how well you played in the regular season. Its a popularity contest that combines voting from the fans, players, coaches and media and like the starters for most All-Star games its a joke. With Cowboys having 25% of their roster on the pro bowl squad the NFL is looking into capping how many players can go from one team.
