Earlier this week on a radio show, University of Tennessee Men’s basketball coach was pumped up for the UT women’s game on Monday night against Duke. He had stated he wasn’t happy with the way the players were treated last year when the Tennessee women played Duke.
Here’s the background on that. UT women’s player Alexis Hornbuckle was arrested when she was a senior in high school for misdemeanor shoplifting at Wal-Mart back in West Virginia. Well the Cameron Crazies taunted Hornbuckle with empty Wal-Mart bags and chanted various phrases that we hear on Wal-Mart commercials.
So Bruce Pearl decided that he was going to show up at the game and sit in the student section with no shirt and his chest painted orange. And here are the pictures to show that he did it:

OMG I can’t believe he did that. He used to coach at USI in Evansville. He was very respected and loved here. Everyone was sorry to see him leave. I have to show this to my brother.
Pearl is seemingly a great guy. When he came to UT he embraced the Pat Summitt and the women’s program (not that they needed him) in a show of respect for all they have accomplished. They seem to be great friends and it’s great for the student body.
Ever think you’d see Geno in body paint at a men’s game supporting Calhoun??? Or vice versa?

I definitely don’t think we would ever see Calhoun do that for the women. I think Geno might do it though. Something about his personality just makes me think he might.
